I'm Mina Sameh, a software engineer in Cairo, Egypt building production mobile, web, and AI-integrated systems. Five years and counting across React Native, React, Node.js, and TypeScript — apps reaching 100,000+ downloads, serving 20,000+ users, processing 10,000+ daily transactions.
Today I'm shipping the kind of work that pays the bills: a React Native insurance app at MedGulf used by 100K+ customers on iOS and Android, with offline-first MMKV, Hermes/JSI bridges, and EAS-driven CI. Before that, greenfield finance and fintech apps at Agillo, an enterprise POS at ForkNKnife, and earlier full-stack work in health-tech. The throughline: take messy real-world problems and ship software users actually rely on.
What I optimize for: cold-start time, crash-free sessions, App Store rating, lighthouse score, and developer-feedback loops that don't require a coffee break. I own end-to-end — greenfield architecture, native modules when JS isn't enough, CI/CD pipelines, App Store / Play Store releases, hotfixes via CodePush, and the incident response when something breaks at 3am.
I believe great software is invisible — it just works. From pixel-perfect UI to a build pipeline that ships in under ten minutes, the goal is the same: less friction between the user and what they're trying to do. I write a lot of TypeScript, read a lot of code I didn't write, and spend more time than I'd like profiling memory leaks. (Worth it.)
Outside the day job: creative dev. Three.js + GSAP, generative art, a Web Audio synth that lives at [/music](/music), a chess board where you can play against an LLM at [/games/chess](/games/chess), and this whole site rendered as a working desktop OS with a sandboxed JS terminal and a RAG-grounded chat over real content. If something on this site doesn't behave like a portfolio piece, it was probably the more interesting choice.
