## Problem WlthyWise needed a personal finance app shipped fast: account aggregation, budgeting, and an experience tight enough to compete with what people already had on their phones. Greenfield — no existing codebase, no design system, no CI. ## Approach React Native + Expo for the app, custom design system small enough to maintain solo. Marketing site on Next.js with a 95+ Lighthouse score because the App Store landing page is the first impression. CI on Jenkins initially, migrated to GitHub Actions when the cost stopped making sense — both pipelines lived behind EAS for native builds and signing. ## Outcome Greenfield to App Store and Play Store in a quarter. Crossed 1,000+ downloads with zero paid acquisition. Marketing site landed 95+ Lighthouse across Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices, SEO. ## Role Sole mobile engineer for the app; full-stack for the marketing site; CI/CD owner across both. Worked with a small product team and a part-time designer. ## What I learned The first three months of a greenfield app are 80% boilerplate and the only way to avoid drowning in it is ruthless scope discipline. Marketing-site Lighthouse scores affect conversion more than I expected — measure it, then measure it again after every dependency bump.
